Mrs. Ruth Francis died when she fell from her house-car her husband was driving as they were coming from Utah to San Bernardino to visit her daughter for a family reunion. They were 15 miles north of Yermo on the Arrowhead Trail when Mr. Bert Francis noticed the read door was unlatched. Mrs. Francis when to latch the door when a gush of wind caught the door and threw to the pavement in front of a truck her two sons were riding in. They managed to stop with hitting her, but she had fractured her skull and was rushed to Barstow for medical attention. She was taken by ambulance to go to Saint Bernardine's Hospital in San Bernardino, but she died enroute around Victorville. She was survived by her husband, Bert Francis, an amusement park concessionaire, three sons, Robert and James Francis, and Royce Leland of Pocatello, Idaho, and a daughter, Mrs. Lulu Moyes of Ogden, Utah.
