William Francis Bell, 76, resident of Blackfoot for the past 18 months and employee at the State Hospital South passed away in the Blackfoot Hospital Monday at 4:40 p.m.

He was born at Metz, Mo., Mar. 1, 1873, the son of John Thomas and Amanda Savage Bell. he was married to Jesse Abnot in Fort Scott, Kans., April 11, 1906. They went to Iola, Kans., before coming to Blackfoot in 1948. Mr. Bell was employed at the State Hospital South as engineer in the boiler room. At the time of his death they lived at the Thomas Apartments at 50 N. University.

He is survived by his widow, Jessie Abnot Bell, Blackfoot, one son, howard Bell, Cheyenne, Wyo., two grandchildren of Cheyenne, and the following brothers and sisters: John Bell, Charles Bell, and Mrs. Dicy Heldebrant, all of Iola, Kans., and Mrs. Ethel Keith, Columbus, Kans.

It is tentatively planned to hold a short funeral service Wednesday at 2:00 P.m. in the Peck & Packham Mortuary Chapel prior to shipping the body to Iola, Kans., for the burial in the family plot. Friends may call at the Mortuary Tuesday evening and Wednesday until service time.
