SINGELYN-Michael John Singelyn M.D., 70, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2007, surrounded by family. Michael will be fondly remembered for his love of life. Michael was born on July 17, 1936, in Los Angeles to Elmer and Mary Patricia Singelyn. He spent most of his youth in Dhahran, where his father was employed by ARAMCO. He attended Bellarmine College Preparatory in San Jose; College of the Holy Cross and Stanford Medical School. He spent thirty years in practice as a respected orthopedic surgeon in Whittier. In 1996, he retired to Newport Beach and began a successful practice in Forensic Medicine. Michael was a proud member of Ritz Brothers, I Padrini and the Vikings. Dr. Singelyn is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lillian; sons Michael Jr. (Lisa) of La Canada F lintridge; Eric (Keri) of Redondo Beach; Scott (Leslie) of Boise, ID and Todd (Stephanie) of Orange; sisters Margaret Anne Fitch and Mary Pat Lass. "Pop Pop" is also survived by eight grandchildren whom he adored. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 10, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Pacific View Memorial Park, 3500 Pacific View Drive, Corona Del Mar. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday, July 11, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Angels, 2046 Mar Vista Drive, Newport Beach. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Michael Singelyn, M.D. Memorial Fund in support of Hoag Hospital's Coronary Care Unit or Orthopedic Services (please specify).
