Cecil Robert Ames of Charlotte, formerly of 105 W. Jewel Street (387-3259), Munising, MI, died Sunday, November 21, 2004.

Mr. Ames was born March 20, 1927, in Munising, MI, the son of Henry Reuben and Alice (Chartier) Ames.

He served in the Navy during WWII and was a retired electrician from G.E. He was an avid fisherman and hunter of bear and deer and birds.

He is survived by his wife Mary; daughters Kim, Elizabeth, Rose Ames ; son Bill; mother Alice, and brother Douglas .

He was preceded in death by father Henry Ames and brother Harold Ames.

Both Cecil & Mary had been married before. When Cecil was 24, he married Audrey Marilyn Johnson, 21, of Forest Lake, MI.

Cecil was living in Charlotte, MI, with his daughter Kim when he died. Cecil's wife, Mary, went into an assisted living home for a short time -- a month or two maybe -- then she went into hospice for a couple of weeks before she passed away 3-4 years after Cecil.
