Grace Ann Brandel, age 91, of Manitowoc, died October 1, 2015 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay.

Grace was born on August 16, 1924 in Langlade County, daughter of the late Robert J. Paulichek and Mary (Rezik) Paulichek. She moved to Manitowoc in 1942 from Seven Miles, north of Antigo. On November 27, 1946 she was married to Mark P. Brandel in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2002. Grace worked at S.S. Kresges, Aluminum Specialty and retired from St. Mary’s Nursing Home in 1991. She was a member of Western Fraternal Life Association Lodge #20 of Melnik and the First Reformed United Church of Christ. Grace enjoyed spending time with family and friends and especially dancing with cousins at weddings.

Survivors include her step-daughter: Dolores Peltier, FL; five grandchildren: Kay (Mark) Meitzen, Madison; Kathy Jeffers, FL; Susan Peltier, Whitelaw; Jeff Peltier, Manitowoc; nine great grandchildren: Jodi Williamson, Kara Meitzen, Abby Meitzen, Maggie Meitzen, Charlie Meitzen, Dohn Koeppel, Jade Koeppel, Tyler Peltier, Brook Peltier; one great-great grandson: Maxwell Wiliamson; three sisters-in-law: Liz Willis; Grace T. Brandl; Doris Brandl; nieces and nephews: David Grulkowski; Sandra Grulkowski; Jane Mischneik; Larry Grulkowski; Kathy Grulkowski; Mark Grulkowski; Steven Grulkowski; Lisa; Grulkowski; James Paulichek; special friend: Dorie Gerard, other relatives and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Robert J. and Mary Paulichek; her best friend and husband: Mark P. Brandel; one son-in-law: Donald Peltier; one sister: Florence Grulkowski; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at First Reformed United Church of Christ, 3613 Waldo Boulevard, Manitowoc. The Rev. Christopher Ross will officiate with entombment to follow at Calvary Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. The Jens Family Funeral Home and Crematory of Manitowoc assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
