Alice was born on August 26, 1927 in Chalmers, Indiana to Theodore and Faye Baker. Her early years were spent in Logansport, where she met her husband of 58 years, Eugene S. Tocco, who preceded her in death.
In addition to raising her six children, she also worked for over 30 years at Howard Community Hospital. She enjoyed most of those years in the OB department delivering hundreds of little girls and boys. Her other “special boys” were the Indiana Pacers and the Indianapolis Colts. She never missed watching their games. Every morning she enjoyed seeing her many friends in the cafeteria at Northwoods Commons where she resided for the last 16 years. She also enjoyed doing her crossword puzzle in the morning newspaper and sending birthday cards to her many friends and family members. She was a professional back seat driver.
She loved her surviving five children and nine grandchildren. Carol Sue Tocco, Daniel (Kim) Tocco, Gordon (Michelle) Tocco, Phyllis (Garry) Ault and Cathy (Bill) Smith. Grandchildren, Nathan Tocco, Stephanie (Luke) Allen, Dirk (Nicole) Tocco, Jeremy Ault, Charles Fox (Grace Kenny), Richelle (Brian) Baumfalk, Sara Pournourbakhsh (Adam Wyrick), Allison Smith (Kyle Richard) and Mike Tocco (Shelby Farmer). She also loved her eleven great- children, Wade, Lauren, Hayden and Harper Tocco, Iris, Ava and Braden Allen, Bridget & Elizabeth Baumfalk, Lucianna Nixon and Andrew Marmaduke. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews and a very special sister-in-law, Phyllis Lowery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Elizabeth Faye Fox, “Son-in-law,” Jim McMurray, two sisters, Dorothy Page and Viola Burk and brother-in-law, Don Lowery.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 5, 2015, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 West Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Steve Cole officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2-5 pm on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Alice’s memory to Community Howard Regional Health
