Alonzo Noble was born in Richmond, VT. He was a merchant, first, in Milton, VT and after autumn of 1836, in Battle Creek, Michigan. This place was then a settlement containing but two framed houses. The first brick chimney in the place was built by him. He was the second mayor in 1862. He was Postmaster of Battle Creek for 7 years.
