"Jack" was the son of Paul Latimer Aderton and Ada Marie Borman. As a youngster, he was one of the first Eagle Scouts in Calhoun County, Illinois.

Jack served in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean War. He was a farmer and also was an insurance agent for the Rockford Insurance Company for more than 13 years.

Jack married Mary Jean Devening on 23 Dec 1965 in Key West, Florida.

He was a member of Hardin Presbyterian Church in Calhoun County. He also belonged to the Hardin American Legion, the Hardin Masonic Lodge, and the Calhoun Entertainment Company.

Jack worked for the Calhoun Volunteer Ambulance Service and was a volunteer for the Illinois Valley Wildlife Refuge in Brussels. He also served as a Boy Scout leader for a time. He donated property to be used for the Hardin Swimming Pool.

He was an avid sports fan. His favorite hobbies included boating and being on the river.

Jack died at his home at the age of 90 years, 1 month and 6 days. He was survived by his wife, Mary Jean; 4 daughters and 4 sons-in-law; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Mary Bo Prange of Hawaii.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Janie Bloomer and 2 infants; and 1 brother, Pete Aderton.

Visitation was held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on 09 Oct 2015 at Hanks-Gress Funeral Home in Hardin. Masonic services took place there at 7 p.m. that evening. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. the following morning at the Hardin Presbyterian Church.

The family requested that memorials, if desired, be made to the Hardin Swimming Pool, the Calhoun Entertainment Company or to the church.
