CARL H. NELSON

Carl H. Nelson, age 72, of 1313 Hawthorne Ave., Two Rivers, died on Tuesday morning, July 6, 2004 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2004 at noon at the Klein and Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be Deacon Kenneth Coenen. Cremation will have taken place. Carl was born on Nov. 8, 1931 in Faithorn, Mich., son of the late Bernard and Esther Peterson Nelson. He was a graduate of Hermansville High School in Michigan, class of 1949. Carl served in the United States Air Force in the Korean Conflict. On Nov. 24, 1977, he married the former Audrey J. Kracht in Manitowoc. He was employed with Heiden Inc. of Manitowoc for more than 20 years. Carl was also involved in various country bands for more than 40 years; one of those bands being the Cool Country Express where he was the bands' leader. Survivors include his wife: Audrey Nelson, Two Rivers; four children: Britt and Tori Nelson, Whitelaw; Candice and Randy Klein, Two Rivers; Evelyn and Eric Glaeser, Manitowoc; and Gail and Jim Brander, Denmark; mother of the children: Jackie Nelson, Manitowoc; 10 grandchildren: Eric and Christopher Kolar, Michelle Peterman, Crystal Bishop, Jonathan Brander, Zachary and Cassandra Glaeser and Ryan, McKayla and Benjamin Nelson; one great-granddaughter: Angel Kolar; one sister and brother-in-law: Ethel and Leonard Slager, Manitowoc; one sister-in-law: Norma Nelson, Iron Mountain, Mich.; mother-in-law: Jane Kracht, Two Rivers; father-in-law: Donald (Lois) Kracht, Two Rivers; and two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law: Gerald and Susan Kracht and Steven Kracht, all of Two Rivers. Nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one grandson: Luke Peterman; two sisters: Annie and Virginia; two brothers: Albert and Roy; one sister-in-law: Allene Nelson; and one brother-in-law: Melvin Mandel. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Klein and Stangel Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Two Rivers, on Saturday, July 10, 2004 from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at noon. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Lung Association.
