Perina J. “Pete” D’Orazio, a lifelong resident of Franklin, died on Tuesday May 19, 2015 at Genesis Health Care Center in Milford at the age of 97.

Born in Franklin on August 1, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Raffaele and Maria Giovanna (Pasquantonio) D’Orazio.

Ms. D’Orazio was employed by Whiting and Davis Co. in Plainville for many years until her retirement.

Perina enjoyed spending her free time with her family and friends, walking everywhere, and going on summer vacations to Cape Cod.

She is survived by her sister Sr. M. Aline D’Orazio, SSJ of Framingham, her brother Alfred D’Orazio of Cumming, Georgia and her many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Belgino, Louis, Pietro, William, Anthony and Mary D’Orazio, Elizabeth Danis, and Eleanor Cloutier.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour on Tuesday, May 26 from 10 – 10:45 a.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main Street in Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) followed by a funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church in Franklin at 11 a.m.

Burial will follow at the parish cemetery.
