Skarvan, Anita L.

Anita L. Skarvan, age 75, of 1012 26th St. Two Rivers, died peacefully early Friday morning, October 9, 2015 at River's Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center following complications from cancer.

Anita was born in Two Rivers on October 22, 1939 to the late Joseph J. and Adella (Duprey) Beitzel. She attended St. Luke's Catholic School, and graduated from Washington High School with the class of 1957. On June 28, 1958, she married David R. Skarvan at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Anita was employed at Margenau Drug from 1971 to 1982 and worked as a pharmacy tech and later as a bookkeeper for Ron's Downtown Drug from 1982 until it's closing in 1997. She also worked as a volunteer at the Aurora Medical Center for many years. Anita was president of St. Peter the Fisherman Council of Catholic Women for 6 years, and served as co-chairman of the funeral dinner committee, as well as president of other organizations at the church. She served as chair of her class reunion committee and several other committees; and was a member of the Two Rivers Senior Center. Anita loved bowling, playing cards, crocheting, reading, and being with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Dave Skarvan; one son, Wayne Skarvan of Grandville, MI; two daughters, Dawn Spaeth of Grand Rapids, MI, and Christine Michael of Scottsdale, AZ; one daughter-in-law, Lynn Skarvan of Two Rivers; nine grandchildren, Jason (Stephany) Skarvan, Aaron (Krystal) Skarvan, Lisa & Mitchell Huckleberry, Garrett & Nicole Spaeth, Taylor Michael, Justin & Noahli Skarvan; and six great grandchildren, Sadie, Abby, Jordan, LaRayne, Emma, and Owyn. She is further survived by two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Norbert Skarvan of Green Bay, Virgil Skarvan and Carol Skarvan of Kewaunee; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Renee DeSwarte; a son, Michael Skarvan; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: Kenneth and Georgine Skarvan, Glenn and Marie Kunesh, and Eugene Skarvan; and her father-in-law & mother-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd. Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Tom Reynebeau, with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.

Friends may call at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St. Two Rivers, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday evening, October 12, 2015. Visitation will continue Tuesday morning at the church, from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m.

A memorial fund will be established in Anita's name.
