LT (jg) Clifford A. Ramsey, USNR, was born 18 November 1914, in Iredell, TX, and graduated from high school in May 1934. He entered Kilgore College in September 1939, and graduated in May 1941. He enlisted in the US Navy on 2 Jun 1942, at Longview, TX, and received his recruit training in Great Lakes, IL. He was ordered to Aviation Radio School in NAS Jacksonville, FL. After 13 weeks, he was then transferred to NAS Pensacola, FL, for flight training. While there, he married Myrtle Hazelwood on 9 January 1943, in the base chapel. He received his Wings on 30 April 1943, with a rating of NAP 1c. His duty assignments were NAS Kodiak, AK, where he was commissioned an Ensign, USNR, and later promoted to Lieutenant (jg); NAS Dutch Harbor, AK; and then NAS Santa Anna, CA where he was assigned to utility squadron VJ-8. He joined the squadron on Banika Island, in the Solomon group, and served with them there as well at Samas and Leyte in the Philippines.

He was discharged from active duty on 1 November 1945. His awards include: American Theatre, Asiatic Pacific Theatre, and Philippine Liberation.

After discharge from active duty he worked for the Sun Oil Company from January 1946 until January 1980, retiring after 35 years service.

Clifford became a Master Mason on 15 April 1941, and also joined the Order of the Eastern Star in 1963. He became a member of the Silver Eagles Association in 1993.
