Alice B. Anderson, 94, died on February 9, 1996, at the Sweet Memorial Nursing Home in Chinook, Montana.
Alice was born to Knute and Marie Severson on January 6, 1902, on the family farm east of Brantford in Eddy County, North Dakota. She attended schools in the area and graduated in the 10th grade.
On November 22, 1922, Alice married Clarence E. Anderson in a wedding ceremony held in the home of her parents. They farmed in the area in North Dakota until 1929, when they came to Montana and Clarence purchased a garage that was called the Bear Paw Motors (it is now known as Jamieson Motors).
To this union were born six children.
Alice was a charter member of the American Lutheran Church, belonging to it since the church was organized in 1930 or 31. For many years she taught Sunday School, served as secretary and treasurer for the Sunday School and was custodian. She was also a member of the Ladies Aid, serving as president for sometime, and the sewing circles. All the while she managed to keep her home and yard beautiful with flowers, her favorite being her peonies that she had on the south side of her house.
Alice suffered a stroke in June of 1989 and had been a resident of the Nursing Home since.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence who passed away in 1976 in Boise, Idaho; one son; two sisters and three brothers.
