Kenneth Marvin Zander, 83, Minot died on Monday, October 12, 2015 in a Minot hospital following an eleven year battle with Lymphoma.

Kenneth was born on October 18, 1931 in Hamberg, ND to Herbert and Alma (Kanwischer) Zander. His family moved to New Rockford in 1939. He attended school in New Rockford and graduated from New Rockford High School in 1949. As a young adult he was employed as a mechanic by the Rockford Oil Garage. Ken enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1952 and served for eighteen months in Guam and in Texas prior to his honorable discharge as a Staff Sergeant in September of 1956.

Ken married Lois Moritz on December 30, 1954 in McLaughlin, SD. Following his military service, he returned to North Dakota where he gained employment with Northern States Power Company and served in various positions during his thirty-three years of employment prior to his retirement as the Commercial Telephone Foreman in 1989.

Ken was a member of the Vincent United Methodist Church and Minot American Legion Post #26 and a former member of the Faith United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee, usher and delegate to the Dakotas conference. He especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, curling, yardwork, his pets and watching sports.

Ken's loving family includes his wife of 60 years Lois; children: Tim (Diane) Zander and Sara (Jeff) Luedke all of Minot; grandchildren: Tyler (Megan) Stahl, Danna (Andy) Schmitz, Carter Stahl, Seth Zander, Madelaine (Matthew) Roder, Jenna Luedke and Jake Luedke; great grandchildren: Ryker and Asher Stahl and Cameron Schmitz; siblings: Phyllis Hitz of New Rockford, Merle (Eileen) Zander of Minot and Terry (Julie) Zander of Devils Lake and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Lois Jean (Jim) Amundson and Howard Zander and brother-in-law: Louie Hitz.
