Violet ‘Vi’ Grueschow was born on December 4, 1905 in Mullan, Shoshone County, Idaho to Linda Rusitshka (1885-1923) and John E Skoog Johnson (1880-1956). She lived in Yakima, Washington and various other cities in Washington before moving to Clark Fork, Idaho. In the early 1920s she married Hector Charles Lamarche (1892-1944) and had one son, Milan D Lamarche (1925-2007). The couple later divorced.
Violet married Harry Grueschow (1895-1959) in the early 1940s. She was the owner of the Lightning Creek Trailer Court and owned the Playhouse Bar and the Village Inn in Clark Fork. After Harry died in 1959 she moved to Kalispell, Montana in 1960 and lived there for three years before moving to Sandpoint, Idaho.
She had worked for the Furniture Exchange Carpet Shop for several years and was a volunteer with the Sandpoint Cancer Society.
Violet died in Sandpoint on February 16, 1997 at age 91. She was cremated and her ashes were scattered in the local mountains.
