NICKOLAS R. "DOC" ABRAMO Nickolas R. "Doc" Abramo, 91, of Kansas City, Mo, (formerly of Port St. Lucie, FL) passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at his home. Nick was born in Brooklyn, New York, on February 1, 1917, to Dominico and Antionette Abramo, who preceded him in death. He spent his childhood in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn, then attended college at St. John's University and dental school at Georgetown University. Nick and Josephine T. Rossi were united in marriage at St. Cecelia's Church in Brooklyn on March 11, 1944. Josephine preceded him in death by 16 years after they celebrated 48 years together. Nick served as a dentist in the Army during WWII. Upon his return, he started his dental practice in Brooklyn. Several years later he moved his family to Massapequa, Long Island, New York, and his practice followed a few years thereafter. Through his 45 years of dental practice he became affectionately referred to as "Doc". He was an active member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus as well as an avid bowler and golfer. Upon retiring to Florida, he and Jo became busy volunteers at St. Lucie Hospital. He also continued his golfing activities at Hillcrest Golf Club. In 2000, he moved to Kansas City to be closer to his daughter and family. He is survived by his sister, Lee LiVecchi of Port St. Lucie, FL, his son, Nickolas and his wife, Patricia, of Eaton Center, NH, and his daughter, Ann Marie Dunlap and her husband, Mark, of Kansas City, MO. He has three grandchildre n: Nickolas, Graham and Angela, and two great- grandchildre n: Alayna and Will. There will be visitations at Forest Hills Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 2001 SW Murphy Road, Palm City, FL, on Friday, 8/15/08, at 2- 4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. There will be a Mass at St. Lucie Catholic Church, 280 SW Prima Vista Blvd, Port St. Lucie, FL on Saturday, 8/16/08 at 10 a.m. followed by interment at Forest Hills.
