He was 66 years old. Mr. Cipperly was born in Newark, grew up in Colonia and he resided in Monroe Township. Ray was employed by Middlesex County Vo-Tech High Schools for the past 45 years. He began his career as a Physical Education teacher and Varsity Baseball Coach, later becoming the District Athletic Director. Ray was also Head Groundskeeper of the Somerset Patriots from their inaugural season from 1999 thru 2010.

Mr. Cipperly was a 5 time GMC Gold Division Coach of the Year, the GMC Coach of the Year 1989-1990, Vice President of the GMC Gold Division for 12 years, a recipient of the NJSIAA Service Award, and he was inducted into the NJ State Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame in 1990.

Ray is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Susan (Pasacano) Cipperly of Monroe Twp.,his daughter Lauren Cipperly of NYC, his mother-in-law Mary Pasacano of Perth Amboy, his sister Diane Hermenau and her husband Ed of North Attleboro, MA, his sister-in-law Cindy Kellenberger and her husband Robert of Caldwell, his Uncle Raymond Graham of Harrison, 3 nieces, 1 nephew, several cousins, and many other extended family members.
