DU QUOIN - Bert Bobbie Kelley, 90, passed away at 9:50 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015, in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Bert had been a coal miner and worked as a machinist. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin. Bert had been a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the UMW of A and Quails Unlimited. He was an avid fisherman, quail hunter and gardener. He was born Nov. 26, 1924, in Du Quoin, the son of Everett Bert and Mabel (LeGrande) Kelley. He married Glenna L. Anderson on Nov. 10, 1946, in Du Quoin and she preceded him in death Sept. 12, 2001. He is survived by four sons, Robert W. Kelley , Thomas J. Kelley and wife, Chris, and William E. Kelley , all of Du Quoin, and Kenneth L. Kelley and wife, Dora, of Pinckneyville; 10 grandchildren, Aaron Kelley of Alaska, Patrick Kelley and wife, Kelli, of Germany, Cory Kelley of Houston, Texas, John Kelley of Hawaii, Bryan Kelley of Du Quoin, Kathleen Kelley of Pinckneyville, Dustin Kelley of Carterville, Kyle Kelley of Du Quoin, Jessi Buss of Edwardsville and Jill Cochran of Edwardsville, seven great-grandchildren, Belle Kelley , Savannah Kelley and Robert Kelley , all of Germany, Kylie Harvey of Pinckneyville, Hannah Kelley of Du Quoin, and Dorien Cochran and Deacon Buss, both of Edwardsville. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two sisters, Georgia Stanhouse and Evalene Popham; and one brother, Joe Kelley . Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, in First Baptist Church in Du Quoin, with the Rev. Joe Wagner officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
