Phyllis "Jean" Dickinson was born on 23 Aug 1949 in Lansing, Michigan, to Wesley and Laura (Brenay) Dickinson, the seventh of nine children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Laura Dickinson, and two brothers, Charles, and Robert.

She is survived by her husband Richard Doyle, son Lawrance Doyle, and daughters Anna Trembly (Robert) and Heather Doyle as well as step-daughters Charlene Lakins, Jennifer Maddox, and Lisa Weicht. She is also survived by brothers David Dickinson (Mary Ann), Daniel Dickinson (Ellen), William Dickinson (Kathryn), twin brother Phillip "Bud" Dickinson (Sherry), and sisters Charlene Smith (Norman) and Donna Gardei (Bill).

Jean's parents moved their family to Arizona from Michigan when she was four years old, and the children grew up there. She met and fell in love with Richard Doyle whom she met at a sewing factory where they both worked. They were married on 25 Jun 1978 in Glendale, Arizona and she became mother to his three children he was raising from a previous marriage.

The family moved to Gravette, Arkansas in 1983 so that their children could be educated at a Bible School there. They bought a house in Sulphur Springs and put down roots, working in the community and going to church with their children. Jean had a many years-long battle from childhood with asthma and many hospitalizations for lung infections. From this she passed away on 27 Mar 1999 at her home in Sulphur Springs.
