A.L. 'Pat' Driggers, age 89, of Calhoun, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at Gordon Hospital. Pat was born on August 10, 1925, in Oxford, FL to the late Joshua Driggers and Sarah Nichols Driggers. Pat was a charter member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Winter Haven, FL, where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He served in the United States Air Force and was formerly employed by State Farm with 35 years of service. He had also served on the City Commission and as Mayor pro-tem of Winter Haven, FL. He was also a member of the Kiwanis Club. Pat played with the University of Florida football before face masks were required. He loved his family and enjoyed weekend farming and cattle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah L. Pace. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Mae Driggers of Calhoun; one son and daughter-in-law, Douglas Robert and Gail Driggers of Middleburg, FL; one daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Carl Kessler of Calhoun; sister, Ione Vause of Tallahassee, FL; six grandchildren, Jennifer Driggers, Zachary Pace, Christopher Driggers, Mackenzie Kessler, McClain Kessler and McCartney Kessler; and one great grandchild, Madoc Pace. Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, July 6, 2015, at 11 A.M. from the Calvary Baptist Church in Winter Haven, FL. Interment will follow in Pine Level Cemetery in Oxford, FL.
