Franklin News-Herald, Friday, May 9 1986:

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Osten, 71, of 306 Pine St., Oil City, died at 8:35 pm Thursday in Oil City Area Health Center. She was born Dec. 31, 1914, in Oil City, daughter of Alonzo and Martha Bruner Dunkle.


She graduated from Oil City High School in 1931, and lived in Oil City all her life. She worked at Chicago Pneumatic Tool Co. in Franklin during World War II, and later at Oil City Hospital for 20 years, retiring in 1967. She attended First Presbyterian Church of Oil City, and was a member of the Licensed Practical Nurses Association.


In July 18, 1937, she married Russell Osten, who survives, with a sister, Mrs. Leroy (Annabelle) Swab of Oil City; and many nieces and nephews. Deceased are four brothers, Frank Dunkle, her twin, William Dunkle, Richard Dunkle and Thomas Calvin Dunkle; and four sisters, Margaret Ripko, and Wilda, Marie and Alice Dunkle.


Services will be at 2 pm Monday in Jonathan H. Hutchinson Funeral Home with Rev. James Shera, interim pastor of her church, officiating. Interment will be in Reno Cemetery.
