He was the husband of Elizabeth Stark Kline.
Born Dec. 9, 1930, in Minneapolis, Minn., he was son of the late Marvin L. and M. Lucille Knight Kline.
Mr. Kline retired from Walter Johnson High School, Bethesda, where he was a science teacher and track coach from 1966 to 1994.
Prior to and after retirement, he was co-founder and executive vice president of Pangaea Inc., a nonprofit organization arranging athletic exchanges between U.S. and Russian high school athletes.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Steven J. Kline of Yorba Linda, Calif., and Adam C. Kline of Frederick; two daughters, Cynthia A. Kline and Ashley E. Kline, both of Frederick; one sister, Patricia Lilliedahl of Plymouth, Minn.; and six grandchildren.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, at All Saints Episcopal Church, 106 W. Church St., Frederick. The Rev. Scott P. Bellows, associate rector of the church, will officiate.
Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Box 50, Memphis, Tenn. 38101, or to Pangaea Inc., 922 Beacon Square Court, #223, Gaithersburg, Md. 20878-5429.
