DORIS L. (SCOTT) ALEXANDER resident of Quincy Village Nursing Home passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015.
Born September 6, 1928 in Waynesboro PA, she was the daughter of the late Omar H. Scott and Nancy (Kahl) Scott. She attended Zullinger School. She was the widow of Rhoten T. Alexander who preceded her in death on July 28, 1955.
She was a resident of Trinity House Apartments for 29 years. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing cards with her family and was active with Zullinger Cub Scouts.
She enjoyed crafts and making cross stitch for family and friends.
She is remembered by her family for the many backyard picnics and homemade ice cream.
She is survived her sister Eleanor Paxson of Hagerstown and her four children, Alesia Permansu of Greencastle, Terry L. Alexander of Centre Hall, PA., Deborah Kauffman and Larry Alexander both of Waynesboro. Six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 8 brothers: Maxwell, Harlan, Raymond, Carl, Donald, Richard, Robert and Roy Scott. And 2 sisters Grace Izer and Esther Lengal.
She was a member of Salem Church, Waynesboro PA.
A memorial service will be held at Salem Church, 4881 Salem Church Road, Waynesboro, Sunday, October 25, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. with Pastor Lin Smalec officiating.
The family will be receiving guests a half hour prior to the service in the church.
A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her honor to Quincy Village Benevolent Fund, 6596 Orphanage Road, Waynesboro PA 17268.
