Helen Marie Jensen Bennett

Helen Marie Jensen Bennett passed through death into Eternal Life on August 31, 1999, at Harvest Care Center, Lurnberton, Texas.

Helen was born to Agnes and Jens Jensen on November 14, 1918, in Danevang, Texas. She attended public schools in Danevang and El Campo, graduating from El Campo High School in 1935. After working for two years in a doctors office, she enrolled in St. Mary's School of Nursing in Galveston, Texas, graduating in 1341. After passing the State Board of Nurses Examiner's she started work as a private duty registered nurse. During this time, she met Harold Bennett, and they were married in 1944.

Helen worked for several doctors in Galveston until 1970, when she was hired by the U.S. Public Health Service Marine Hospital in Galveston. Upon her retirement on December 31,1980, she and her husband moved to Seguin in 1981. She remained a resident of Seguin until Harold's death in 1995, when she moved to Lumberton to be near her children and grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Edgar, her husband Harold Bennett. Sr., and her granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Bennett.

he is Survived by sons, Harold, Jr. and wife Carol Arm of Beaumont; Richard W. and wife Laura of Bozeman, Montana; grandchildren Jeffrey Bennett, Cynthia Bennett- Robinson, both of Beaumont; John Bennett of Garland; Marty and Paul Bennett of Bozeman, Montana; and great grandson Jared Bennett of Beaumont.

Helen was a previous member of Zion and St. Paul's Lutheran Churches in Galveston and a current member of Faith Lutheran Church in Seguin. She was active in these churches in the Lutheran Youth Organizations, Altar Guild, and various Lutheran Women's Circles.

A service of celebration of Helen's life will be conducted at Farm Lutheran Church, Seguin, Texas at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 4, 1999, under the direction of Palmer Mortuary with the Reverend William Lange officiating. A graveside service will be held at Guadalupe Valley. Memorial Cemetery; immediately following the service of celebration of life. A public viewing will be held at Palmer Mortuary. Seguin from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 4,1999, at which time The family will greet friends and visitors.
