Betty Jo Phillips Covey, 75, a resident of Route 1, Elkins, departed this life Tuesday morning, Aug. 15, 2006, in Davis Memorial Hospital.
She was born Monday, Feb. 16, 1931, at Elkins, a daughter of the late Jesse James Phillips and Anna Marcella Hess Phillips.
On June 27, 1959, she was married to Edgile R. Covey, who preceded her in death Dec. 27, 2000.
Surviving are one son, and wife, one brother, two sisters, two grandsons, one granddaughter, and three great- grandchildren.
Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband were seven brothers, Hartsell, Howard, Maynard, Jack, Warren, Earl and Dwayne Phillips; two sisters, Katherine and Adeline; and one granddaughter, Samantha Klepack.
She was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1953, was a homemaker and attended Bowden Family Worship Center.
The family will receive friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel Friday, Aug. 18, at 11 a.m. Pastor Philip Lynn Ryder will officiate and interment will follow at Phillips Cemetery at Jimtown. Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Betty Jo Phillips Covey.
