This land adjoined Gerard Briscoe's land and was recorded in the County Clerk's Office in Deed Book #4 on page 16 in Bardstown, Nelson County, Virginia [now Kentucky].
His Sons of the American Revolution Application papers shows Asa Best Overall as a child.
John Overall married Lydia Brown, daughter of Joshua and Mary (______) Brown, in Nelson County, Kentucky on October 30, 1817 by the Rev. Daniel Walker. The bond for this marriage was dated October 29, 1817 and was accompanied by the written consent of Joshua Brown, father of the bride. Witnesses to this consent were Marshall S. Brown, the surety to the bond, and William Vittitoe.
