Obituary for Jonathan Golden


Captain Jonathan “JJ” Joseph Golden, 33, passed away in Afghanistan on October 2, 2015.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday, October 28th at Beltway Park Baptist Church. Arrangements are being provided by North’s Funeral Home.

JJ Golden was born in Camarillo, CA to George and Gloria Golden in November 1981. He graduated from Camarillo High School in 1999, and entered the Air Force in 2002 at the age of 21. JJ’s first assignment was aboard the E-8C JSTARS aircraft at Robins AFB, GA, where he first served as an Airborne Operations Technician and then upgraded to Senior Surveillance Manager. He deployed eight times in support of worldwide operations. While at Robins AFB, JJ was recognized as Airman of the Year for the 12 ACCS in 2006. Additionally, JJ was awarded the Henry E. (Red) Erwin Award in 2006, which recognizes the Air Force’s most Outstanding Enlisted Aircrew Member. In 2010, JJ graduated from Embry Riddle University with a Bachelor’s degree in Professional Aeronautics. JJ then applied and was accepted into Officer Training School, where he received his commission in 2011. Upon graduating from pilot training at Vance AFB, OK in 2012, JJ attended the C-130J FTU where he was recognized as a Distinguished Graduate. JJ arrived at his first pilot assignment at Dyess AFB in March 2014. While in Abilene, he actively attended Radiant Life Church. JJ was a devoted husband and he adored his two children.

JJ is survived by his wife, Danielle, their two children, his brothers Robbie and Jeff, his mother Gloria, and his father George.
