Graveside Services: 2:00 PM Friday, October 2, 2015 at Beaufort National Cemetery with full military honors. Staff Sergeant Dorinda Annette Basham (US Army Retired), was born February 10, 1962, in Beaufort, South Carolina. She was the daughter Sarah Mack Basham-Littlejohn and the late David Basham. On Thursday, September 24, 2015, in Huntsville, Alabama, she was called home to be with the Lord.

She received her education in the local public schools of Beaufort County where she graduated from High School. After graduating, she enlisted in the United States Army and served her country honorably for more than 16 years before retiring as a Staff Sergeant. During her military career, she received numerous awards, medals and citations to include: the Army Commendation Medal (3rd Award), Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal (4th Award), Southwest Asia Service Medal, Non-commissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 3, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (3rd Award), Multi-national Force and Observers Ribbon.

After retiring, she returned home to Beaufort, South Carolina and used the leadership and entrepreneurial skills gained through her years in the military and opened one of Beaufort’s largest social clubs… “Picassos”.
