Arthur S. Megquier

Arthur S. Megquier, 66, of Orient, died April 5 at a Houlton Hospital.

He was born at Weston on September 16, 1904, the son of Arthur and Maria Dickinson Megquier.

A graduate of Danforth High School, Mr. Megquier has served as selectman, tax collector, road commissioner and overseer of the poor in Orient. He was a retired farmer and woodsman.

Surviving are his wife, Veda Dwyer Megquier of Orient; two sosn, Harold A. of Winthrop, Mass., and Stanley of Bancroft; a daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Spooner of Orient; two step-sons, Edward Kelley of Southington, Conn., and Elwin Kelley of Bancroft; one sister, Mrs. Frances McLean of Portland; 18 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon from the Bartlett Funeral Home in Danforth with the Rev. Richard Shaw officiating.

Interment will be in the Orient Cemetery.
