Was 38 years old when he enlisted as a private in Co. C, 30th Ohio Infantry, on August 20, 1861, and was mustered in the same day. He was discharged for disability on January 17, 1863, at Washington, DC.

Obituary:
A. B. Adair, an old and well known resident of this city, died Wednesday night at his home in the Third Ward, at the advanced age of 76 years. He was an old soldier and the G.A.R. post will take charge of the funeral, which is to be held at the M. E. Church at ten o'clock Saturday morning. His son John is home from Muskogee, and his daughter Lizzie came in from Omaha, Nebraska, this morning to attend the funeral. Rev. Dr. Wright has been telegraphed for to come back from the Parsons conference to conduct the services, and is expected by tonight's train.
