Elyzabethe “Bette” Boehm, 91, of Grand Island died Monday, Oct. 19, 2015, at CHI Health St. Francis.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Riverside Retirement Lodge, with Pastor Caroline Price-Gibson officiating. Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Bette was born June 24, 1924, in Grand Island to Charles and Elsie (Davis) Linderman. She attended school in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1942. After graduation, she worked at the telephone company in Grand Island.
She was united in marriage to Robert Boehm on June 9, 1949, at First Presbyterian Church in Grand Island, where the couple made their home. Bette was a stay-at-home mom until her children were older, and then worked at JC Penney in the personnel department until she retired.
Bette loved to play bridge, read, go walking and travel. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a Friday Book Club. Bette was a loving mom and a strong and independent woman.
Bette is survived by daughters, Ann Boehm of Ithaca, N.Y., and Bobbe Winters of St. Louis, Mo.; granddaughter, Alex Winters of St. Louis, Mo.; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and her sisters, Burnelle Winters, Lucille Murphy, Margaret Doty and Bernice Williamson.
