I did a lot of research on my g-grandfather,and found that the spelling "Bird" was on some of the documents about him.
Byrd was born on January 6,1863 to Hardy and Mary Ann (Polly)Strickland Hart. His brothers were: Lewis,Nicholas,Hardy,James and Felix. His sisters were: Elizabeth,Nancy,Melinda,and Melissa. His step-brothers and sisters were: David,Mary Ann,William,Judy(or Judah),and Margaret.
Byrd's first wife was Nancy A.(Rogers)Hart. They were married on December 16, 1863. Their children included: Della,Byrd Jr.,James,Alexander,Carrie,Vicey,Laura,Orrie Izetti,Noma,and Robert.
Byrd's second wife was Ida Bell(Fears)Hart. Their children included: William Hardy,Robert,Lettie Mae, and John Marion.
Byrd was a farmer. He passed away on August 22, 1915 at 55 years old. He is buried at Collins Chapel Cemetery in Malone, Florida.
