He entered the United States Marine Corps after high school and was discharged in 1963. He came to California while in the Marines, stationed at Camp Pendleton. In 1965 he came to Napa to work as a mechanic at Kastner Pontiac. He spend 37 years as an auto mechanic working at various automobile dealerships and garages. He retired in May of 2002 after working for 10 years at Maier's Garage.
He is survived by his wife, Roxanne Percy Comstock of Napa; sons, Kendrick and Ernie Comstock of Napa; daughters, Desiree Kulp and Maryanne Comstock of Napa and Theresa Thomas of Texas; sister Margaret Comstock of Nebraska; 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be at Riverpark Manor Apartments club house, 695 South Jefferson St., on April 16 from 12 to 5 pm. Please bring your favorite dish to share. A donation in his name may be made to a charity of your choice.
