Our dad was very gifted and talented in a multitude of ways. He was a singer, and with our mother or as solo, did countless vocal numbers for the church services they loved. He was also an artist working in many different media. This ranged from leather carving to wood carving to wood burning portraits He also worked with copper, working pictures into the copper sheets with a nail to oils and water color painting. He loved to tat, creating hundreds of items from snowflakes to large 6 x 8-foot table cloths requiring hundreds of hours and miles of thread. He was an avid hunter and fisherman teaching us as well as his grandsons, granddaughters and others the joy of the outdoors. He now has grandsons, granddaughters, great-grandsons and great-granddaughters following in his footsteps with the love of outdoors.

Throughout his life he worked at a multitude of professions. He started as a welder in the Fraser Shipyards in Superior, Wis. before being drafted into the Air Force during WW II. After the war he attended the Duluth Business School to be an accountant. He also worked as an automobile mechanic before attending the Wisconsin State Teacher's College in Superior where he received his Bachelors in special education. During his time in college he worked for the Great Northern Railroad as an oiler at night. After graduation the family moved to Beloit, Wis. where he worked teaching Special Education. His continual desire for learning led him to complete courses in radio and television repair and he ran this as a part time job for years. He also worked as a police officer in Beloit, Wis. He received his Master's Degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee in 1960, after which he became the school psychologist for the Beloit school system until moving to Marinette Wisconsin in 1969.

Dear Dad, just so you know, we all love you and miss so much, mere words are inadequate to express. If there is one thing we can point to that you have instilled in each and every one of your offspring and their children as well, it is the continual search for knowledge and improvement. That and to ALWAYS have a dream. Even though you were no longer able to walk nor see, you still had your dreams and were planning things for the future, giving you something to live for. We will never forget that. This thing you have instilled in us will get us through this troubling time without you fine.
