Antonia Demaris Scott was the daughter of Maurice Franklin Scott 1879–1969 and Myrtle Minnie Henderson 1879–1974. She was named after her father's mother, Kaugas Demaris McCray 1857–1884 and her mother's mother, Lavenia Antonia "Toni" Futrell 1845–1900.

She was the oldest of five children. Her siblings are:
Maurice Franklin "Buddy" Scott Jr 1910–1912 (Died at 18 months old)
Dorothy May Scott Wilson 1912–2009
Winston Louise Scott Schilling 1913–1999
Sarah Gene Scott Marshall 1916–2007

She attended grade school in Benton, Arkansas. The family moved to Miami in 1925. Her father's father, Samuel Thompson Scott 1848–1930, moved to Miami with them. She graduated from Miami Senior High School in 1926. Antonia became an accomplished musician, playing the piano and pipe organ at church and professionally at theatres in Miami, Florida.

Her first marriage was to James L Murray in 1927 in Broward County, Florida. One child was born of this union, Barbara Louise (Bobbie Lou) Murray 1929–1987. They divorced in 1931.

Her second marriage was to Albert Benjamin Collins 1909–1974 on January 19, 1944. One child was born of this union, Antonia Demaris Collins 1948–. After the birth of this child, she was called Big Toni and the child was Little Toni.

Her sister, Dorothy May Scott Wilson, Aunt Dot told a story about Big Toni that happened in September of 1926. Big Toni was all packed and ready to go to college at either Florida State or the University of Florida. Before she was to leave for college they drove on vacation to Benton, Arkansas to see relatives. On the way back to Miami, Florida, they were in a car accident and hit a tree. In this accident Big Toni had one of her front teeth cracked off very badly. While this happened, there was a hurricane in Miami, Florida that caused much devastation. It hit Miami, Florida on September 18, 1926. The 1926 Miami Hurricane (or Great Miami Hurricane) was a Category 4 hurricane that devastated Miami, Florida. Her clothes for college were destroyed. She had a choice of getting her tooth fixed or buying new clothes to go to school. They could not afford both. She got her tooth fixed and never did attend college.

She and Al were active in the Methodist Church. She played the piano in the adult Sunday School at South Miami Methodist Church. She was a wonderful piano player. To watch her play was mesmerizing. Her fingers flowed across the keyboard as if they were filled magic and hardly looking at the music sheets. It was wonderful.

On holidays, especially when Thanksgiving was at our house (9220 SW 70 Avenue, Miami, Florida), she would play the piano and her sisters, Dorothy, Loulie and Gene who were the singers, would put on a show for the family. Also, my father, Albert Benjamin Collins would sing "How Great Thou Art." It was wonderful to see and gave us all some wonderful memories.

She was a mother, grandmother, and housewife, and worked with her husband and father in the auto parts business, in Miami, until her death on August 19, 1971. She was cremated at the time of her death. Al’s wishes were that Big Toni’s ashes be put in his coffin with him.

They are both buried in the outside Mausoleum part of this cemetery.
