Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday at the Dodsworth Piper Wallen Chapel. The Rev. Cecil Swindle will officiate, and burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Stump was born Oct. 7, 1875 in Bethel Township to Isaac and Sarah Raymond Stump, and had spent his entire life in McDonough County. He was a retired painter and was a member of the Fandon Christian Church.
In 1896 he married Mary Ellen Hall, who preceded him in death. Surviving are five sons and daughters, Charles Stump of Tennessee, Merle Stump of Pekin, Mrs. Maxine Clark of Macomb, Mrs. Doris Davis, of Delray Beach, Fla., and Wendell Stump of Calumet City. Twenty-six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and four sisters, Mrs. Dollie Daniels of Salina, Kan, Mrs. Nora Cavitt of Colchester, Mrs. Bessie Payne of Good Hope and Mrs. Alta Clemens of Aurora also survive. Four sons, Harold, Keith, Roy, and Dale Stump and two brothers are deceased.
