Traphis Owen Hornsby

Traphis Owen Hornsby,68, of Ghent, died Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at home after a sudden illness.

Born Sept. 29, 1934, at Josephine, he was the son of the late Owen and Clara Bolen Hornsby.

Mr Hornsby was a dedicated member of Ghent Church of God, where he served as custodian. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Della "Dee" Krasnesky Hornsby; children Theresa "Lisa" Meadows and her husband, Roy, of Shady Spring, Evelyn "Marie" McClatchey and her husband, Michael, of Dallas Texas; a son Timothy Hornsby and wife, Lori, of Ghent; three brothers James Hornsby and his wife, Peggy, of Woodridge, Va., Charles Hornsby and his wife, Wally, of Flat Top and Emory Hornsby and his wife, Ann, of Union, S.c.; two sisters, Gail Dunford and her husband, Ernie, of Flat Top and Drema Nelson of Ghent; three grandchildren, Daniel L. McClatchey, Kevin B. Meadows and Jessica M. Meadows; two stepgrandchildren, Kimberly Devall and Gregory Meadows; and five step grest-children.

Service will be at 2 p.m. saturday at Ghent Church of God with Pastor Otis Clyburn and the Rev. Philip Farrington officiating. Burial will follow in Hannah Lilly Cemetery, Odd.

Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home, Shady Spring, and one hour before service Saturday at he church.

Pallbearers will be Larry Green, Jerry Pack, Vince Conway, Donnie Fink, James Farrington, Raymond Allen and Jim Dunford.
