Mrs Stevens had lived in Denver for more than 25 years, during seventeen of which her husband was pastor at the South Broadway Church. An active church worker, she was especially interested in Sunday school and women's groups. Born near Plano, Iowa, she was married to Rev Mr Stevens in 1889, and during their life together they served pastorates in Leon, Iowa, Trenton MO, Wichita KS, Spokane WA, Beatrice and Lincoln NE and Pueblo and Denver CO. In addition to her husband, survivors include five children, Mrs Edith Boyd of Gehring, NE, Mrs Elmer Strain, Charles C Stevens and Mrs Rex Murphy of Denver and Paul C Stevens of Wheat Ridge, twenty-five grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at South Broadway Christian Church at 3 pm Wednesday with interment following in Crown Hill Cemetery. Pall bearers were all grandsons of Mrs Stevens.
