She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Hamstead and the Faithful Workers Class.
She is survived by her husband, Earl Leo Smith, Sr.; seven daughters, Mrs. Pauline Boone, Pikesville, Md.; Mrs. Margaret Elliott, Maugansville; Mrs. Shirley Favorite, Hampstead; Mrs. Mary Frances Deater, Mrs. Barbara Mam, Mrs. Jean Silvers and Mrs. Nancy McCarney, all of Frederick; two sons, Col. Earl L. Smith, Jr., USAF Ret. of Dallas, Tx.; Charles E. Smith, New Market, Md,; two sisters, Mrs. Pauline Lewis, Hagerstwon; and Mrs. Louise Hammell, Frederick; brother, Lewis Engle, Walkersville; 21 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Services were held at the Robert E. Dailey and Sons Funeral Home, Frederick; burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
