Murill Arthur Allen, 67, 2360 E. Price, died at 12:29 a.m. Saturday, 16 Jul 1988, in St. Joseph's Hospital. Services were held Monday, 18 Jul, in Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Mayberry officiating. Burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Allen was born 14 Oct 1920, in Tyler, a son of Ben Allen and Annie Elizabeth Whitaker Allen. He attended Sulphur Springs schools and married Lorene Foster on 4 Jul 1942, in Hugo, Okla.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps. He retired from Campbell Soup in 1986 and was a member of the East Paris Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Wes Allen of Paris and Jim Allen of Deer Park; two brothers, Benson Allen of Alto and Lee Roy Allen of Grapeland; two sisters, Betty Jean Vahl of Houston and Dorine Beavers of Dallas, and one granddaughter, Darla Tatosian of Manvel.
