Mrs. Amanda Jane Anderson

Mrs. Amanda Jane Anderson, 82, widow of Dr. Alvin A. Anderson and well-known resident of Emlenton, died at her home on Kerr Avenue, at 11:50 o'clock Saturday night following an illness of more than five years.

Mrs. Anderson was a daughter of Ebenezer and Jane Levier Christy and was born near North Washington, Butler County, on April 26, 1855. She had resided in Emlenton the greater part of her life and was known and esteemed throughout the community. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.

Mrs. Anderson's husband, Dr. Alvin A. Anderson, died three months ago. She is survived by the following children: Miss Grace Anderson, Mrs. Clara Barber and Miss Ethel Anderson of Emlenton; Mrs. Alice A Kerlins of Wayne, Mich.; Mrs. Margaret Sharder, Kittanning; and Mrs. Ruth Schramm, Sharpsburg.

She also leaves nine grandchildren, one great grandchild, two brothers, Joseph Christy of New Kensington and one sister, Mrs. T. B. Nace of Sharon.

Funeral servives will be conducted at the home at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Rev. J. B. Edwards of New Wilmington, formerly of Emlenton, will officiate, assisted by Rev. Koonce of the Methodist episcopal Church, Emlenton. Interment will be in the Emlenton Cemetery.
