When George arrived in Vietnam 14 March 1967, he was assigned to A Company, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry, 173rd Airborne Division, USARV.
George was killed on Hill 1338 and 7 kilometers southwest of Dak To City, during the Battle of the Slopes along with 76 other soldiers.
Survived by his parents, George Albert and Anna Marie Poor Sr of Hillsdale, New Jersey.
