Sara L. Franz, age 51, of 3230 Samuel Road, Manitowoc, died Saturday afternoon, October 24, 2015 at her residence after a brief illness.

Sara was born on November 16, 1963 in Manitowoc, daughter of Evelyn (Leonowicz) Kohlman and the late Paul Kohlman. She was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, Class of 1981 and then received an Associates Degree from Lakeshore Technical College, Cleveland, in accounting in 1983. On August 18, 1984 she married Daniel J. Franz at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Sara was employed for 15 years with Market Day Corporation as their sales communication manager. She was currently employed with Check Electric of Manitowoc as their office manager.

Survivors include her husband: Dan Franz, Manitowoc; two daughters and a son-in-law: Lauren and Erik Swenson, West Bend, Emily Franz, Manitowoc; her mother: Evelyn Kohlman, Manitowoc; one sister and two brothers-in-law: Linda and John Bender, Manitowoc, Doug Zipperer, Clarks Mills; four brothers and sisters-in-law: Paul and Cathy Kohlman, Manitowoc, Jerry and Bonnie Kohlman, Oconomowoc, Dan and Robin Kohlman, Manitowoc, Pat and Beth Kohlman, Collins; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Joseph (Joe) and Ruth Franz, Manitowoc; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law: Julie and Dan Tikalsky, Stevens Point, Joy Scholten, Green Bay; and two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Jim and Gina Franz, Menominee Falls, Chad and Paulette Franz, Manitowoc. Sara is also survived by special friends: Todd and Kara Van Voreen, Little Chute, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends, especially her pet dogs: Simba and Bailey. She was preceded in death by her father: Paul Kohlman and a sister: Barbara Zipperer.

Cremation has occurred at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2015 at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall (1114 South 21st Street), Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dave Pleier.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall (1114 South 21st Street), Manitowoc, from 9:00 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2015 until 10:45 a.m.
