Norman entered into this life on Dec. 16, 1929, in Jumping Branch, W.Va., the son of Joseph Carl and Clora Mae Pack Hatcher, both of whom preceded him in death. Norman bravely served his country during the Korean War, serving in the United States Marine Corps. He was united in marriage to Juanita Ellison on Feb. 29, 1968, and they shared a wonderful life together. He worked as a salesman and was of the Baptist faith. Norman will be remembered for his love of hunting and fishing.
Norman will be lovingly remembered by his children, Norman Ray Hatcher Jr. (Kim), of Fredericksburg, Va., and Patricia Diane Cooper (Thom), of Louisa, Va.; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Steve Hatcher; three sisters, Kathy Rosario, Gladys Lehner and Dotty Angel; and a host of friends and neighbors.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Hatcher; his parents, Joseph Carl and Clora Mae Hatcher; and a brother, Joseph Carl Hatcher Jr.
Funeral services for Mr. Norman Hatcher Sr. will be conducted on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Corbin Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Joe Eaton officiating. Interment will follow in the Monhollen Cemetery, with Military Honors being conducted by the D.A.V. Chapter 158, Keavy.
Friends may call on Friday, May 3, 2013 from 6-9 p.m. at the Corbin Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in memory of Mr. Hatcher, can be made to the D.A.V.
