Dusty had resided in Lufkin for the past 28 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict, and worked as a cabinet maker for the Cabinet Shop for 27 years. Dusty was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Richey of Lufkin, Son and fiance, Michael Peavy and Paula Womack of Huntington; Son, David Peavy of Lufkin; Son and dtr.-in-law, Matthew and Stacy Richey of Lufkin; Daughter and fiance, Shanda Richey and Hubert Reese of Lufkin; Grandchildren, Kristy, Shaun, Billy Wayne, Aaron, Andrew, Dustin, Shelby, Kallie, Brittany and Kylee; Great grandchildren, Tori, Tyler, and Tracey; brothers and sisters-in-law, Max and Shirley Richey of Houston and Ward and Winnie Richey of New Mexico; sister, Rita Richey of Houston; mother-in-law, Audrey Gifford Amy of Houston; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Myrtice and Bill Forsythe of Lufkin and sister-in-law Julia Cook of Houston; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecro and Claris Richey, and brothers Red Richey and Jerry Richey. Father-in-law, Harold Eugene Gifford and brother-in-law, Robert Lee Cook.
