Albert Cecil Smith
November 20, 1927 - October 14, 2015

Albert Cecil Smith passed away at his home on October 14, 2015. He is the beloved husband of Catherine (Sue) Smith for 30 years, loving father of Albert Smith, Jr. (Lisa) of Roanoke, VA, Dora Ellen Taylor (Phillip “Willie”) Lexington, NC, Virginia “Jenny” Hines (Edward) Pinetops, NC Jerry Smith (Glenda) Paintlick, KY, Douglas Horne (Lisa) and Shannon Smith both from Slidell, LA.
He was born on November 20, 1927, in Crystal, WV to the late Loman & Della O’Donnell Smith.
He is survived by his four brothers, Adam (AG), Melvin, Roosevelt all of Bluefield, WV and David from Palmdale, CA. Also preceded in death are his two sisters Alice Henderson, Frances Gibson, two brothers Sydney and Daniel Smith and grandson Jackie, Jr.
He is survived by 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, many nephews and one special niece Anita Gail Hall of Bluefield, WV.
He served in the US Army for four years and was in World World II and the Korean War.
He was in the construction industry for most of his life in West Virginia before he and his wife moved to Louisiana where they have resided for 28 years.
Funeral Services will be held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd West, Slidell LA, 70460, on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at 1:00pm.
Friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday beginning at 11:30am.
Burial will be at 2:00pm at the Southeast Lousiana Veterans Cemetery.
