Larry Monroe Currie, 85, of Conover, passed away Friday, Oct. 7, 2022.
Born March 22, 1937, in Anson County, he was the son of the late Howard Monroe Currie and Louise Mabel Forbis Currie of Harrisburg.
He was a loving and devoted husband who placed family above all else. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a skilled artisan, gunsmith, and mechanical engineer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Monroe Currie; nephew, Gerry Griffin; and niece, Dawn Merritt.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Peggy Jean Shoe Currie; daughter, Candace Currie Harrington (Mark) of Louisville, Ky.; grandsons, Matthew Peyton Fisher (Jenn) of Hanover, Md., and Taylor William Fisher of Asheboro; and brother, Elmer Ronald Currie of Charlotte.
Private services were held Monday, Oct. 10.
