Anne Mae Dowell Boone, 91, of Gordonsville, died Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at her residence. Born December 30, 1923, in Greene County, she was a daughter of the late Jeremiah Beasley and Rebecca Collier.
Mrs. Boone is survived by her husband, Lemuel Lawrence Boone of Gordonsville; three daughters, Gloria Bouton and husband, Eugene of Manassas, Ginger Thomas and husband, Roy of Gordonsville, and Becky Thomas of Louisa; one son, Gary Dowell and wife, Suzi of Gordonsville; a son-in-law, Ernie King of Louisa; 11 grandchildren, Tina McIntosh, Steve Bouton, Carlton King, Tiffany Polo, Stacey Kerstetter, Ray Dowell, Jessica Thomas, Matt Dowell, Wayne Dowell, Cynthia Dowell, and Steven Thomas, 10 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Oscar Ray Dowell; one daughter, Linda King; one son, Frank Dowell; four brothers, Arthur Beasley, Linnie Beasley, George Beasley, and Elwood Beasley; and seven sisters, Katherine Shifflett, Ollie Shifflett, Caroline Gibson, Minnie Conley, Sara Hensley, Geneva Wood, and Clara Lam.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2015, at the Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Gordonsville, interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Pastor Terry Jewell will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday evening, October 29, 2015, at the funeral home.
