ANNA "ADA" DALTON, age 93 years of Brooklyn, passed away
peacefully on Sunday, October 25, 2015, at Legacy Assisted Living in
Jackson. She was born on January 24, 1922, in Norvell Township, the
daughter of William J. and Martha C. (Daschner) Antcliff. Ada graduated
from Brooklyn High School in 1940. She married John C. Dalton on
November 7, 1942, in Jackson. He preceded her in death on May 29, 1975.
Ada was a devoted wife and loving mother who was active with the PTO.
After raising her family she became active in the community working at
Flowers Unlimited, Mary's Restaurant, one term as Norvell Township
Supervisor and several years on the Jackson County Jury Board. Ada
enjoyed sewing, going to dinners and dances at the American Legion and
eating out with friends at the Eagle's Nest, Beach Bar and Big Boy.
She was an active member at St. Joseph Catholic Shrine Church in Brooklyn. Ada also enjoyed attending Saturday festivities at the Gospel Barn in Coldwater, Michigan.
Surviving are two sons, ...., four grandsons, ...., four great grandsons, ...., one great granddaughter, .... and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers, Lyle, Myron and Ival Antcliff and two sisters, Helen Toles and Lena VanTyle.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Ada will be at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday,
November 4, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Shrine Church in Brooklyn with
Rev. Father Bob Pienta officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph
Catholic Shrine Cemetery in Brooklyn. Visitation will be Tuesday,
November 3, 2015, from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the Dunn Chapel, Brown-Van
Hemert Funeral Home in Onsted and on Wednesday at the church from 9:30-
10:15A.M. Memorials are suggested to Great Lakes Caring & Hospice of
Jackson or American Diabetes Association. Send condolences to the family
