SHEFFIELD -- Francis Marshall Love, age 89, went to be with the Lord on Oct. 27, 2015.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas S. and Laura Ann (Nee Kelly); two sisters, Clementine and Jewel; and one brother, James.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Carolyn N. Love; daughters, Lynn Love Caldwell (Chuck) and Jane Love Hotchkiss (Charles); son, Tim Love (Sandra); granddaughters, Ashley Love Sellers (Todd) and Amanda Love Holland (Chris); grandson, Evan Hotchkiss; and great-grandchildren, Lucy and Afton Holland and Wesley Sellers.

Mr. Love was raised in Tunnel Hill, Georgia, until at the age of 17, joined the Merchant Marine and the World War II effort in 1943. After working for the railroad and on barges he joined TVA in 1954 and retired after working more than 40 years at Colbert Steam Plant. He was a Mason, was active in Little League, and served as a deacon and church treasurer at Southside Baptist Church. He was also active in the Sheffield High School Band Booster. He loved his vegetable garden.

His family will receive friends today from 6 until 8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. A celebration of his life will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor George Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield.

Pallbearers are Richard Dodson, Don Eades, Chris Holland, Evan Hotchkiss, Todd Sellers and Forest Smallwood.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of F. M. Love to the Sheffield Education Foundation-Class of 1971, in care of Sheffield High School, Sheffield, AL 35660.
